For the record (my own record), this winter has depleted me. Struggling to endure day after day of dark, frozen days and nights. Mud will follow and I dream of another life where my choices would have provided me with more freedom and capacity to snowbird.
Clocks will go forward tonight, the promise of Spring is on the horizon which in my mind means May. Bright spots ahead include Ireland for Easter, not enough time to add on Southern Italy unfortunately.
Dinner party tomorrow with D+J+S. Elaborate pasta dish means cooking for 4 hours. I do enjoy the creativity despite the massive lift. Flower haul.

Super proud of what I’m doing with Friends Way RI, recently connected them to the grants going on between URI horticulture and the DEM that may allow them to get a free garden installed for the benefit of bereaved children who lost a parent ( like I did ). Exciting to see what happens next.
Thanks to the continued feeding from Andrew the bird whisperer we have a finch boom. Finches everywhere and beautiful songbird sounds around our property. Songbirds are a luxury experience!

Garden notes, my daffodils not in bloom yet, hellibore started about a week ago, snowdrops about 2 weeks ago. So March 10 is the activation date.
Today was slow homeboy mode, seed starting, planted : arugula, mache, chinese forget-me-not, violets, bib lettuce, cabbage and collards for the hens, walla walla onions, spinach. Soil on the way this week will winter sow snapdragon all the colors, plus need to get 10 hellebore in the ground.
